Hang Out Review and Good Bye eng 318 :(

Hi, Guys :)

It's triple really Cold nowadays ~  First of all I just want to say "Take Care my friends and Jeff:)"

* HANG OUT REVIEW

It was quite nervous and difficult to lead some people to discuss with my choosen topic.

At the opneing part of our discussion, All I prepared ments are gone ( Sigh..).

But we ( me and my great parter HyunHo) tried to give full particulars about our topic and questions.

Our topic was " Gender Identity "

our First question was : How do you think that many of celebrities are coming out that they are gay people.

I know just after asked this question there is a few minutes silence...haha

But, people who participated our discussion including Eng318-03 classmates stared to share their opinion. Some of those opinion was they can understand their gender identity and we should give a around of applause for their courage. However , on the other hand, others said that " I think the people who came out could get a disadvantages in carious fields.  I think both opinions are have a point there.  But we made a conclusion as following words:
- Although they are a small numbers of people and could be hated by people who are "Not gay", We should understand them, Encourage them and repect them. And actually we can.

Second question was : What advises can you give to your best friend who wants to coming out that he/she loves same gender?

I thought this question was very fresh question because people could change their true mind in case of their acquaintances or families stuff.

Likewise, there are some changes of my participant's opinions.

One of my closest classmate DongYoon answered that he would persuade his best freind not to.
He said that eventhough the world changed alot but he deosn't want to his best friend be suffered by people and society.
On the other hand, other classmates said they could encourage their friend because they can repect their human right and Identity.

And there is one thing that I want to say is:

Thank you Jeff , Thank you all my classmates :)

At first, I felt a little bit awkward. But all of my classmates were very kind and taked to me befor I tried. I think Professor Jeff's material was very useful for Icebreaking :)
This English discussion lecture was thought-provoking class :)
Thank you all

P.S   See u on monsday Jeff :) !!

Final Spectacular :) - Gender Identity

Hi, my gorgeous guys:)

Me and my partner Hyun ho have decided to discuss with the topic of Gender Identity.

A few weeks ago, One father who has gay son was broadcasted in Korea. At first, the father couldn't accept that  his son loves same gender. As you might know, especially in Korea, we are conservative about sex stuff ( It is almost forbidden loving same gender ). However, the father
changed his mind because he loves his son very much. According to following captured picture, the boy realized he likes guy when he was 17 years old at first. and the father says If my son loves guy from the deepest heart in the future, I would allow them to marry.

:

Nowadays Many gay couples are accepted in many ways especially in western culture. In fact

USA, for instance, same gender marriage is legal in New York, California, Ireland, Maryland,

Massachusetts, Washington D.C and so on. In this point, we could come up with several questions

to discuss.

First!! Why do they wanna love same gender?

2nd !!  Do you believe there is a gender role in our society? How about your country?

3rd !!  If your child is gay. If so, What would you do for your child? (Attitude, comments  etc.)
           - Could you acknowledge your boy's sexual tendency?

Alchoholic

Alcoholism is a word which many people use to mean alcohol dependence (alcohol addiction). Some people are problem drinkers without being dependent on alcohol. If you are alcohol-dependent then detoxification ('detox') can help you to stop drinking. Problems with drinking alcohol There are roughly four levels of alcohol drinking - social, heavy, problem and dependent. As a rule, each level increases the risk to your health and safety. Social drinking Most people drink some alcohol. However, even a small amount of alcohol can be dangerous if you drive, operate machinery, or take some types of medication.
Heavy (hazardous) drinking This is drinking above the recommended safe limits, which are:
•Men should drink no more than 21 units of alcohol per week, no more than four units in any one day, and have at least two alcohol-free days a week.
•Women should drink no more than 14 units of alcohol per week, no more than three units in any one day, and have at least two alcohol-free days a week.
•Pregnant women. Advice from the Department of Health states that ... "pregnant women or women trying to conceive should not drink alcohol at all. If they do choose to drink, to minimise the risk to the baby, they should not drink more than 1-2 units of alcohol once or twice a week and should not get drunk" . Where do these recommendations come from? Problem (harmful) drinking This is where you continue to drink heavily even though you have caused harm, or are causing harm or problems to yourself, family, or society. For example, you may: •Have cirrhosis or another alcohol-related condition. •Binge drink and get drunk quite often. This may cause you to lose time off work, or behave in an antisocial way when you drink. But note: not everybody with problem drinking binges or gets drunk. Many people with an alcohol-related condition such as cirrhosis drink small amounts frequently but do not get drunk. •Spend more money on alcohol than you can afford. •Have problems with your relationships or at work because of your drinking. Many problem drinkers are not dependent on alcohol. They could stop drinking without withdrawal symptoms if they wanted to. But, for one reason or another, they continue to drink heavily. http://www.patient.co.uk/health/alcoholism-and-problem-drinking

I think drinking is good for relationship among people, especially between friends. But we can come up with the sentence "Too much is worse than nothing" now, Here's my Questions
- Why people drinking?
- How often do you drink?
- Who do you usually drink with?
- Why Do Some People Become Alcoholics but Not Others?
- Why Korean likes drinking ( compared to another country)?
- How do you think get rid of alchoholic? ( If you are an alchoholic)
